Need your guys opinion on spark plugs

Bought my car off lease from someone who returned it at about 18.7k miles. Drove it on a tune from about 20k miles on. Now sitting at 22.5 closing in on 23k. I'm going to assume i'm running the same spark plugs when the car was built in the factory.

I've heard people say you should change your spark plugs as soon as you run a tune so you can get a fresh start and not harm your car. I've also heard spark plugs should be changed every 3 years or 30k miles.

I understand running a tune can put more wear and tear faster on your car so I was thinking of doing it maybe around 26 or 27k miles instead. Like I said I've only driven on tune for about 2k miles or so.

Could I do it around the 26/7k mark? Or should I do it sooner rather than later?

Thanks

I usually asked my local shop to check the spark plugs every second oil change after I tuned my M235i. The shop would tell me if I needed new plugs. It really depends on how hard you drive.

It also depends on your tune and how much boost you're running. If you're running a mild tune, you're probably good until 30k

Hard to say without some logging. But it's recommended to go one step colder with the bootmod3 stage 2. Take the opportunity to knock it out; It's pretty cheap and not too involved.

No need to change plugs unless you experience misfires, which could also be caused by defective coil packs.
