Do downpipes change the engine tone of a car?

Hey guys was curious if the downpipe has anything to do with the engine tone of the car or is it the exhaust itself?

Let me know!

Thank you!

Yes of course it is part of the exhaust system after all and you will most likely be removing backpressure if you are going full catless or high flow catted. This will create a louder and deeper tone and allow for more burbles to be heard if that's your thing, depending on your tune of course.
