so took it easy yesterday at limerock... didn't even swap to the pfcs, i used the yellow stuffs. I changed my braking habits to accommodate and I have to say...
These yellow stuffs do handle track without issues if you take care of them. Was able to drive home on them after an hour on track. They are a little soft, so need another flush, but not glazed at all. Typically id hit 135mph and stand on my brakes at the 3 board and trail into the apex of turn one. With yellows i started braking earlier and softer and used the brakes to swing the ass out a few feet from the apex. regardless still at 1:02:09 as fastest lap. Need to loose weight....

Don't run chicane, only gt cars do. We would be Touring or TC class with uphill.
Fastest is a 1:02:9 with ms100 octane, but yesterday on just 93 was putting down similar times. So next time its race gas, hoping on the 1:00 or less one day. video was off, but found this gem on youtube. skip to 6min 56 seconds

I would like to get your advice on which break pads to buy.
I drive a 2014 M235i and do about 8000 miles a year. On average I do maybe one or two track days per year (Laguna Seca and Sonoma). The stock pads aren't that great but because they were free under the BMW 4 maintenance I did not bother to get something else. I will need to change the front and the rears very soon and would like to upgrade them. My main concerns is they should not make any noise for street use and have a descent performance on the track (as long as they do better that the stocks...). They should also be super easy to replace (I'm novice...) and accommodate the wear sensors. According to my research it looks like EBC could be a good option but wondering if I should go with the yellow or red stuff? |

ebc yellows and motul 600 fluid.
you may get a squeaky pair which will go away in one track day or a few hundred miles of regular driving.

Ordered a set of akebono. A week later they’re delivered. Someone steals the package off my front door before I can get home.
Get replacement from Turner Motorsport 2 weeks later. Finally get a chance to install the brakes... they don’t fit... Note: akebono does not make brake pads for the blue bmw brakes |

Awesome, sub 1:00 on a street driven car, is impressive at LRP. Not much power can do to help on a track like that..

EBC yellow fronts are onsale for the 235. DP42130R - $156.77 shipped. Good deal if you need a spare set for track days.

I have an M240i. I’m running 200 brake fluid and RS4’s. I do about six track days a year. Debating between EBC yellow or Porterfield R4-S. I’d like to run my brakes on both street and track but I’m willing to swap out after track days since I have dedicated track wheels anyway. What do you guys think? If I swap pads out to OEM after track days, anything special I need to do? Any issues? Will the 235i pads fit 240i? A lot of the manufacturer websites don’t list the 240i.

What a big improvement in pedal feel and initial bite over the stockers (mine had 17k on them). Re-used stock rotors as I'm sure they are fine. My biggest worry was the pedal feel, car is is 95% a street car, so I just wanted lower dust pad, gaining some firmer pedal feel was just a bonus. WINNER WINNER.
