What Vehicle Has the Best Nav?
I'd like to hear especially from folks that have really tested each Nav out there from the Prem line vehicles, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, Infiniti..etc...most current model.
Who has the most intuitive, easy to use Nav and just makes sense to operate and also incorporated into the vehicle design cabin the best? Just want your honest opinions on the Nav, not which car drives the best. |

Both Acura and Lexus have rave reviews for voice capabilities.

I was extremely extremely impressed with Infiniti's Navigation system, playing with it at the NY Auto Show as well as driving in a co-worker's QX56..

i was playing with the NAV in my friend's acura TL, and I have to say it was one of the best I've seen. Touch screen, voice command, points of interest, among others made it really user friendly and practical.

i've tried the navigation systems in bmws, mercedes, lexus, infinitis, and acuras. Acura's navigation is BYYYYYY FAAAAARRRRRR greater than all the otheres, the only one that comes close is the lexus one.

Lexus/Toyota NAV is good except for the fact that you cannot use it while driving.

The problem with a touchscreen interface is that the screen has to be close to the driver which essentially means that it is lower and the driver has to take his/her eyes completely off the road to access the screen. I believe Acura has gone with a joystick interface similar to the i-drive on the RL and moved the screen higher.
Personally I would rather be able to use the NAV while driving and have a joystick rather than a touchscreen and not be able to use it while driving.

Acura/Honda. And BTW the TL nav is the same nav in our Honda Odyssey. I prefer the BMW graphics (how roads look, the colors, etc) to the Honda graphics, but for interface and ease of use, it is better than BMW by a mile. Or a hundred miles. It's way, way easier to use IMO.
Neither has as good an interface as a Garmin aftermarket unit, though.
