Hi all, I bought my first BMW a few days ago and I am very happy with my purchase. Traded my camaro for it, and as some of you can guess, red is my favorite color lol. I unfortunately already had it hit by an older lady in a Jeep Liberty less than 24 hours from signing the paperwork.
Damage wasn't too bad but still, it sucks. Lucky for her, her car really didn't have any damage. I am loving the design of this car so much tho. Would like some recommendation on cosmetic mods. I am planning on doing black mirrors and body color reflectors. Also rim recommendations, I want something that fills in the wheel wells more. |

Nice color! I have black one and those silver mirrors are barely tolerable. No offense, but they just don't look good at all on a red car. That would be my first mod. I've added an MP spoiler, a Lightweight front lip, and a limited slip diff to mine. Still contemplating my next steps.

First Congrats and Welcome! Second, sorry to hear about the accident. Most importantly, cars can be fixed so glad everyone is ok. For cosmetic mods I'd say go carbon fiber. Mirror caps, splitter, wing and diffuser. That would looks tight with the red. For wheels, I really like the HRE FF15's - you could go 19" with a custom finish.

Go into an empty parking lot and rip a mean burnout, look at the tire mark or marks
To find out if you have the lsd, you could check the build sheet(if you have it), or just in all seriousness, go into an empty parking lot and drive in tight circles with modulation in your throttle inputs. My lsd with chirp and skip the inside wheel on slow speed, tight circles. Congrats on the car! You don't see too many in red.

http://bimmer.work/ or similar sites will give you the factory build sheet. An LSD *might* have been added aftermarket, but unlikely. Do a burn out and see if you lay down two tracks .

What did that lady do, sideswipe you? And is she or her insurance going to pay for it? Those wheels are in pretty bad shape too. Was this a CPO? This may be an opportunity for you to buy new wheels, unless you can get them repaired at low cost?

Kinda sorta sideswipe, we were going similar speed, and she came into my lane. I already reported it to her insurance but since it was the weekend, they couldn't give me a definite answer. Not CPO, but I'm going to try to get new wheels, or work something out for different rims. I've been looking at the replica M2 (real ones don't fit?) rims.

Did said lady stop? Do you have any acknowledgment of fault on her part?
Inquiring attorneys need to know. |

Yeah, she stopped and was very apologetic about the situation too. She did acknowledge it was her fault, but I'll have to talk with the insurance today and see what will happen.

Homero89 - am I misreading your sig? Do you have a 325? If so, you are on the wrong forum. This is a 2 series forum.

Camaro was fun, BMW is funner. BMW is easier to drive, but I somehow feel more unsafe in the BMW. Features are way more than what I had in the camaro. In the looks dept, the BMW has a way prettier face, but the behind is meh for both, IMO.

I am a muscle car type of man as well, I prefer Ford to Chevy. Now, with that being said, I chose to go with something that looks good, had power, and that different feel. Where I live everyone is driving around in Mustangs, Camaros, Chargers, and Challengers... I've owned multiple Mustangs, Mercedes, Benz, Audi, and Lexus. However, the most fun I had driving was with my 1. Bimmer, 2. Mercedes, and 3. Mustang GT.
