Need assistance identifying interior trim part

Recently found this plastic part lying on front set passenger floor of my 2019 230i XDrive convertible (F-23). Appears to be a cosmetic covering. Have looked and unable to discover where it came from. Will greatly appreciate assistance to identify the part and where it should be located. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Look on the bottom of your door, looks like it could be the right size for an aftermarket puddle light cover - assuming maybe you didn't buy car new.

^ that looks very aftermarket, at least to me

I couldn't see anything in a modern BMW looking like that...maybe, just maybe, back in the e36 days.

If it does end up being some original part definitely let us know, I'd be very surprised.

Thanks to both of the replies. I do not have any aftermarket items on the car. Will be going in for service in a few months and will let you know what the dealership says.
