What's a good/fair price for the M Performance LSD?

shopbmwusa.com, use code BMW20 to get 20% off. Regular price is $2,630, after 20% it's $2,104. They also quote a labor price of $502.98. I have pdf's of what I provided my dealer when I ordered, or you can order from the website and select your dealer.

I just tried it for my 2017 M240i MT, and it worked for me.

Thanks for the tip! I followed your link and it worked. I originally had gone directly to bmwusa. Perhaps it's dealer specific. Oddly enough when I originally selected my dealership in Birmingham, I got a warning message that "This dealer cannot install this part" or something similar... very weird.

I went ahead and purchased via BMW of Mt Laurel, shipping directly to my indy shop. Thanks everyone's info on the LSD!

Question for anyone who has received this already- does the LSD come with fluid already or will I need to purchase M Differential fluid?

I am in this situation as you. Should I install M performance LSD and keep this car or do voluntary termination later and go for M2C

The LSD and m4 control arms up front totally transform the M240i. But if you can budget it, I’d still get the M2C in your place.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but just wanted to put it out there that I pulled the trigger and installed the LSD at Mt. Laurel with the 20% code.

Taking it easy for 500 miles or so, but initial impressions are very positive when doing the break-in figure 8s. Even at low speeds you can feel that there's more rotation on throttle.

However the true test will come when DSC is turned off...

I was not in position last year to pull trigger on M perf LSD. I'd like to find one for under $2,000 have a great shop to install for $500. (3.5 hours)

If anyone has any leads on these types of 20% discounts, please post.

I'm in the same boat as you, the lowest I've seen is $2200 shipped online, plus $700 labor, probably come out to $3000.

Reviving an old thread for others in my boat.
There are 2 prices for the LSD in the dealer's system. Make sure you get the right one that matches the BMW price.
I was quoted installation at 4.5 hours instead of 3.5 plus 1.5 hours for programming so 6 hours. In Denver at nearly $195/hour before BMWCCA discount it gets expensive quickly (Schomp doing the work since its a 2021 model under warranty).

There is no programming needed for the M Performance LSD. It's mechanical, not electronic like the electronically controlled LSD used in the M cars.
