Scratches on coating on speedometer...

Pretty pissed. Cleaned the speedometer the same way as the big display in the middle, which looks flawless. This coating is definitely inferior.

It's on a Convertible, so it's very noticeable when the top is down (I literally can't read part of it...)

Change of getting this replaced under warranty?

what products and applicator did you use ?

Is it possible you stained the plastic ?

Just a microfiber cloth, the same one I used to clean my old 135i's speedometer, and my current M240i's main display. No scratches there.

Mine has the same thing and I've seen a lot posts online about this. Sadly, no solution yet other than replacing. Sucks...

You need a lubricant with microfiber. I use an interior cleaning spray from Griotts with the microfiber. Otherwise, you're just dragging dirt across the plastic screen and will no doubt get scratches.
