GPS splitter for android unit

2018 M240i NBT EVO ID6 System.

I got a y-cable to split the GPS off the back of the head unit so I don't have to use the GPS antenna supplied with the Android screen. I'm super confused about which plug is the GPS antenna input to the head unit. I definitely have factory nav, but there is no blue connector on the back of my unit, it looks like this one:

I found this on eBay saying they have added GPS. It's the same back panel plus the blue connector.

If I have factory nav, why doesn't my head unit have the blue GPS input?

bugger.

routed the cable behind the cluster, over to the side of the dash then back across the front of the dash and stuck the receiver next to the windshield vent.

Pfff, a lot of work for nothing i guess.
By a aftermarket GPS antenna, and place it under de dash, near the front screen, works perfect.

while I don't know if it is at all possible to split the signal when there is no antenna on the iDrive unit ( all the BMWs I worked on had it ), it is still worth investigating.

The quality of the signal from the roof mounted antenna vs. one under the dash or even on the dash under the windscreen is massive. Not only you get more sattleites with better signal but the SNR is also almost 100% improved.
