M240i Cold Start Issues

Good day everyone.

I am new to this section of the forum, having just bought an M240i.

Been around for a while on the F80 side.

Anyway, I apologies if this has been addressed before. Did a quick search and didn't find anything.

The other day, I started my car after it being parked off for around 2 hours or so.
When I started it, it kind of spluttered up to the cold start RPM of around 1200rpm I think.
Drove perfectly fine after that with zero issues, and haven't had the issue since.

Any idea what may be the issue?

Car only has M performance back box and aftermarket downpipe.
It has 47 000KM on the clock.

Thank you

What kind of downpipe (cat/catless)? Could be that itself. Any check engine lights as of late?

It's a local aftermarket downpipe. Considered good quality here in SA.
No check engine lights at all, not even when I had the issue.

Do you happen to notice a fuel smell when you finish driving your car? I had a fuel line leaking and this was one of the issues I was experiencing.

My m235 has done this a few times in the past. It always seems to do it when the weather changes. It will do it 2 or 3 times in a row and then go back to normal. It has never thrown an engine light or had any pending codes though.

I never thought too much of if.
