I traded my 2016 228ix Sport vert for a Jeep. I love to drive on the beach to surf fish and hang out with my friends there who own Jeeps. I had 2 Wranglers and loved them. I cant do any of that with the 228. This a great site and I learned a lot about the car from here. Best to all of you and continue driving the best series on the planet.

I knew I'd scare people away when I started posting.

Well, have fun. At least you use your Jeep for the purpose intended.

How many light truck owners will spec out a $45k rig, never take it off-road, and hardly ever use the bed.

I have, too, including from you. Sorry to see you go, and best of luck.

That's why I have both

Congratulations on the jeep! Did you get a JK or the new JL?

I love my M235i and daily drive it, but I couldn't do it if I didn't have my truck too. I have a long bed and regularly use for runs to Lowe's and Home Depot for yard stuff (plants, fertilizer, etc.) and home project things, not to mention hauling sail boats to all over the Midwest. It's also the go to machine on the rare occasions we have snow or ice and just when it's nasty outside and I don't want to get my BMW yucked up.

Good luck with the Jeep. Hope you don't end up becoming really good friends with your local Jeep or independent service department. I've never owned a Jeep, so I don't quite understand the lure, but reviews in CR and others would make me think twice.

I don't normally put much faith in CR reviews. But in this case they are probably right. But it's not just wranglers, it's pretty much every Chrysler product. My mom, dad, and my self have all had big issues.

I've had my fair share of warranty work. And I've fixed alot of things my self. But I love my wrangler.

In August, I had my 40,000 mile Grand Cherokee all loaded up going on vacation when one of the rear calipers wouldn't release, causing major smoke and the smell of burned brake pad. I was 200 miles from home and 150 miles from my destination. So in 95 degree heat I had to swap out the caliper in the Advance Auto parking lot. That was fun. Why Chrysler insists on saving money using phenolic cups in their calipers is beyond me. Anyway, the moral of the story is always carry a complete set of hand tools in Chrysler products when taking a trip.
