Did I mention that the rear "coat" hangers are the cheapest and most poorly designed of any vehicle I have owned in 45 years? I cannot get one laundered shirt on a hanger to stay put. This is on the 2019 M240i.

The $4 fix is the "Command" adhesive hooks from Walmart, etc. I recommend the medium size in black, of course

The jerky gearshift from 1 to 2 on the 8spd auto gearbox always makes me rethink my decision to buy the car. I hear a tune will sort it out but damn they rly shouldve sorted it out at the factory.

I've noticed that on a cold start in the morning but that's the only time I've noticed any issues with mine. My solution is to slap it into manual mode and upshift into 2nd when I first start out.

They're useless.

Guys - They're not hanger hooks. You're supposed to string a clothes line between the two. They're for drying your shirts after you visit the laundromat. Saves money on having to use a dryer. It's all in the manual. You need to put the air on high and hot in the rear to accelerate the process.

;-)

Now we're getting somewhere!

As for that "manual"...don't get me started.

This switch to adjust the mirrors on driver side armrest needs to be clicked to the passenger side mirror, then it works

After a short day of driving (approximately 10 hours) an annoying chime sounds and the display turns on with a "do you want to take a break?" message. There seems to be no way to turn it off. Even worse, if you've been dodging potholes or standing water and activating the lane monitor frequently, a similar message comes up on the display between the instruments. That blocks out the temperature readout, which is important to have if you're driving in wet conditions near the freezing temperature.

The latter issue forces me to turn off all the lane keeping nannies on long trips, which is just when I might actually be helped by it. Clearly German engineers, living in such a tiny country, don't understand the need for long drives with stops only for gas and fast food.

Just got my 2 today. I see what people mean about the turn signal lights on the side mirrors. Almost blinding at night.

Also, the turn signal stalk stays down or up when putting on the turn signal (rather than returning to the middle like my old 135i and the X5d). Haven't had a car that did that in over a decade.

I leave the BMW Travel & Comfort Base Support (part #51952183852) in between the passenger seat head rest posts, and when I'm picking up clothes from the cleaners I click in the Travel & Comfort Universal Hook (51952183855).

Doesn’t matter where you are - 10 hours is 10 hours and humans need a break. It’s perfectly possible to drive 10 continuous hours from Germany (you know they do let you out these days!) and not actually get very far...

Massive blind spot

Hate the gigantic blind spot when the top is up on the convertible. This could've been easily rectified with blind spot monitors like most new cars now have

Also easily solved by using split field drivers door mirror (same as standard on European BMWs) and adjusting the mirrors so that no part of the view more than a car length behind appears in more than one mirror, even vehicles alongside are visible with the split field mirror. With the standard mirrors when adjusted correctly, anything from from the rear wheel backwards will be visible in the 3 mirrors, a glance out the side windows should show anything else that isn't in front.

When I had my car coded to do different things, that was one of the options.

I hate how the washer fluid nozzles are not adjustable.
They spray over the windshield giving me a shower when the top is down also spray all over the side windows as well.

The arm rest always sliding forward-so annoying

As mentioned in previous posts
Interior door handle placement, early fuel warning, can't adjust auto-dim mirrors

Other than that I love my 2.

A air bag related error popped up at the start of the week, apparently due to a flaky passsenger seat occupancy sensor. My dealer does not have a loaner until next week, so made an appointment to get the car in then. Meanwhile, the air bag icon on the instrument panel is illuminated.

Every time I start the car, a message comes up in iDrive that has to be cleared. Annoying, but I can live with that.

What I hate is that there is a persistent "Passenger Restraint System" message that shows up where the OBC display should be. Pushing the OBC button will bring up the display for a few seconds, but then "Passenger Restraint System" comes up again. With all of the indicators, is this really necessary? I have come to depend on the digital speed display in the OBC, so there really is useful information there that is now being obliterated. Grrrr.

The driver alertness messages can certainly be turned off/disabled in iDrive.
