What is the width of the spare? That is, when laying flat on its side on a surface like the trunk, how high is it?

Regarding the poster who said a site said it would not work on a 235 convertible, that makes no sense since the wheels & brakes are the same. Perhaps they mistakenly thought there was a clearance issue when the top is down but I suspect the height is about 6" which would leave plenty of clearance.

I did a test drive of a 240 yesterday and I'm very impressed but I need a spare tire solution to pull the trigger.

I know this is a few months old... starting to accumulate parts for my yet to be completed M240 and I also was researching spare tire solutions. I found this spare kit and likely will be getting it...(and hopefully never using it).
