228i Switching Tires on Stock Wheels

I'm not very good with tires, but I need to get All Season or Winter Tires on my car. It is a 228i MSport and has staggered wheels and currently has Summer Tires on it.

Is there any recommend set of tires for Winter that would work with the stock 228i Msport Wheel or do I have to buy a new set of wheels too? Preferably not trying to break the bank.

I put square winter tires on my stock staggered M235i wheels.

I put 225/40-18's Bridgestone LM32's on my 228 but went with used 135i wheels which have almost the same widths and offsets. Work well and don't deteriorate handling much. Haven't tried them in snow yet but they worked well on my old E36 M3 so I'm not worried.

I believe your best bet is to go with 225/40/18 square

225/40/18 is a very common size, so should be cheaper than any comparable 235/40 in the same brand/model

8" | 8.5" wide wheels (OE setup) is well within tire manufacturers' recommended rim width range for the 225/40/18 size
