Hmm... that makes things more annoying and complicated. Honestly I'd leave it alone. Get an AWE exhaust to improve your "sound system."

As for the 676 hifi, it sucks. Coming from an E90 with logic 7. Replacement door speakers was my first real mod, I couldn't deal with stock longer than I had to. |

Pretty much the conclusion I've come to, esp. since what's left of my hearing continues to degrade noticeably with each passing year.

2017 - do you have aux-in in the armrest or just USB? Forget when that went away.

--- hang on while I look at the manual --- No, I don't think the manual is going to help. I'll have to look at the car (over the weekend). What were you thinking about that prompted your question?

(Not today, but yesterday, Presidents Day)
Cruised along pre-dawn for about 50 miles up I-93 north from MA to Concord, NH alongside a white M240 with Oregon plates on it. It's not often I see another driver who drives similarly to me for that long a period of time, let alone one in another M240! I was on my way skiing with one of my kids. Another example of how practical the car is. With the rear seat split, it can handle up to three people (one kid <12 max) with ski gear! 2/26 Update, since I'm the last post: Swapped out the battery and registered the new battery with Bimmerlink. My clock has been losing time every morning and this morning I got a warning about battery discharge. The battery was original, so I'm guessing that's the issue. Even if it proves to be something else, I'm thinking that a new battery after 5+ years isn't a bad idea regardless.

Well I thought I'd be brave and do the water pump and thermostat myself since I had a free afternoon. After all, FCP says it only takes an hour or two! I can confidently say that I don't think I'll be doing that project again. I wasn't able to get to the water pump due to time (there's a bunch of crap in the way that isn't on the F30, if you're following the FCPEuro guide). Makes sense why a shop quoted me some pretty high labor.
It's not super fun working on the thing that has to take you to work in the morning. It got me home just fine but, I'm still hoping I didn't manage to screw anything up. Crossing my fingers no leaks. Haven't had time to clear the code to see if my CEL is resolved. I hope so... Edit: Good news. CEL went away. Bad news. Totally have a leak.

Been a while since I posted back on here so just want to add some content
Latest mods, installed an M Perf replica lip and decided to go with the exposed intercooler route. Wanted something different and so far I totally like it. Also went with the new Dinan n55 coils in red, obviously, along with 1 step colder ngk plugs. Running the stage 2+ e20 MHD tune so always want to be in top shape lol

coming up on a year of ownership, figured its probably time to stop lurking and finally post something lol. I hope im doing this right
2016 M235i xdrive Glacier silver, bloody guts lil list of mods/additions to the car: burger motorsports intake (love the sweet turbo sounds) Mperformance CF mirror caps Mperformance painted front lip Mperformance painted side skirts IKONMotorsport CF rear diffuser random CF kidneys shoutout to Rich from NY, his glacier silver m240 got flooded out in September (RIP) so he supplied the painted splitter and side skirts. only issue ive had with the car was coolant hose exploding, happened at like 44-45k miles I believe. it was scary, but thanks to you guys and this forum, I was able to quickly diagnose the problem and have it repaired. I love this car to bits, its opened up a whole new hobby/passion for me, which im very thankful for. planning to upgrade to F87 m2 or G80 m3xdrive in a year or two, but im in no rush.. P.S. if any other m235i/m240i/m2 owners from the Jersey City/NYC area ever want to link up for a cruise, feel free to reach out! |

A month ago I had the scrape fixed that I created while parking (ref. https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1856784). Yesterday I picked the car up after having SunTek Paint Protection Film Ultra applied to the doors, rockers, roof, quarter panels, trunk lid, bumper cover, and diffuser.
The front 1/3 of the car was PPF'd with a different SunTek product 15 months ago. The entire car was ceramic-coated at that time (the ceramic coating went over the top of the PPF). I'm curious to see if the latest SunTek PPF sheds water via its HydroResist™ top coat feature as terrifically as the ceramic coating has shed water. The GTechniq Crystal Serum Ultra Ceramic coating (geez, the names marketing comes up with! ) has allowed me to almost completely air-dry the car after washing it. I drive it until there are just a handful of water beads left and then wipe it down in a few minutes. Since they're still holding plenty of water, the door, trunk, and hood jambs take another 10 minutes to wipe clear of water.

Productive day so far installed a FMI and Boost pipe. Washed and clay bar the body and applied a cheep spray on ceramic coating until I can do a full paint restoration in a few months and apply a good liquid ceramic coating

A waste of money like everything Dinan makes. The Eldor coils (search my name for the thread) from the 750i? are direct fit and are an upgrade for what we are already running.

One of the oem wheels was cracked, so I figured I'd find a lighter option. I would've upgraded to a wider tire, but I just bought new tires, so I went with the standard setup.
