M235iX Conv. Loose rocker panel

Hello, I am new to this forum.
I had 2016 CPO M235iX Conv.
Recently I found driver side rear Rocker Panel loose and came out litte bit.
I tried to push in but did not work. I also tried to find out if retainer strip is cracked or broken - no damage found.
Does anybody experienced the same issue?
Any suggestion what to do? Any required parts to fix?
I would appreciate your advice.
Sato

They do normally sick out a small amount as I found out on my new 2021 Vert. I could pop it all the way out but it did go back in and stay, just not flush as I expected. I presume it is normal but I have not looked closely at another 240 vert. Yours does look farther out than mine.

Sato, go to www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of your car's VIN. Hit enter and bookmark the page. Scroll down to vehicle trim. The scroll down to COVER DOOR SILL / WHEEL ARCH. You'll find the parts there.

Thank you MarcoZandrini. Yes, I went over the BMW OEM Parts site. Something may have broken but is is not appearantly broken (Retainer strip seems not broken). It looked no rivet/screws/nuts are used to clip outer rocker panel to body side (with retainer strip). Any idea/suggestion?

Look for distortion of the holes in the bodywork that the strip locks into, if they are not flat, a gentle tap with a rubber mallet to flatten them will allow the strip to be held closer to the body.

Thank you, aerobod for your advice. I believe retainer strip (white plstic plate on the 2nd photo) is properly attached to the body side (body side has holes and retainer is attached with the projection part in the body side hole to slide in click.) Do you think some parts are missing to click in, such as No. 8 expanding nut and/or No.7 hex head screw in this diagram:

Any advice, please.

Looks like number 8 and 7 are towards the front of the side skirt by the fender it looks like you need part number 15 based on your photos

DannyM235, thank you for your comment. Part number 15 is the retainer stip (on the 2nd picture - white plstic part). I checked it, and found no failure/crack/broken piece. I wonder why it does not click in. Thank you anyway for your comment.
