I have the MMR installed on the car but I have not tracked it since. I'm selling the car and I don't want the rebuilt engine to have track miles on it.

Porsche sounds fun op! In terms of the mmr baffle did the shop you were working with have any thoughts on its effectiveness even though you never tracked it again?

They definitely made the recommendation to get an oil baffle as they have installed them in a lot of n54, s54 and other bmw Engines. In regards the specifics of MMR in general it was new but based off of the fitment and testing results on the website they said it looked great.

Ok I see yes looks like a well made piece for sure. Thanks for that info! Would you happen to have any idea on labor install cost or possibly diy on this piece?

I have the baffle and a new gasket ready to install, just waiting on a engine support bar. I'll let you know how it goes. It looks like the going rate is 10hrs labor at a shop. Looks to be a real pain in the ass but I'm not paying $1k for somebody to back out bolts then put them back in.

I don't know the individual labor cost. I paid a lump sum amount to have the entire engine refurbished, new vac rod bearings, arp studs, all new gaskets, seals, new valve cover, new crank, crank hub capture by mmr, the oil baffle etc…

Update: This is a decently big project to do on jack stands.

My guess is that it may be much more than an afternoon job. Especially the first time, second time will be much better.

I am expecting to have the car out of commission for a week, hopefully less.

I recently installed Bilstein Coil overs. It was much more time then thought it would be.

The combination of finding torque specs, replacement nuts and bolts, and waiting for parts.
