Upcoming new Valentine 1 (?) detector

Pursuing Rdforum.org there is a -better then- rumor that Valentine 1 will be upgrading or redesigning their radar detector.

Supposedly new display and electronic parts.

With car manufacturers blind spot /cruise control - lidar radar and MRCD and Uniden R1/3, R7- a Valentine clone, it’ll be interesting to see what Valentine introduces.

When u go to order a Valentine 1 on their site it states ‘Temporarily Out of Stock’, so something is up.

Uniden's engineer (They had 1 engineer) left the company. It will be interesting to see what they come up with, after the R7, which is bulky, IMO.

Interesting and surprising fact on Uniden's engineering staff.

R7 seems to be the same size as the V1.

Saw that initial video frm Vortex Radar and he seemed to walk back that ‘one’ person factoid in the following video. But that vortex radar guy is on top of things and that ‘one’ guy at Uniden that left to go to Redenso was important and it will be interesting to see what Uniden does in the future.

I also thought the R7 was bulky looking and for the price will wait to read what Valentine presents.

I had two different V1's for almost 20 years and was pretty happy with them. A couple of years ago I made the switch to a Uniden R3. I miss the arrows a little but I like that Uniden actually updates their software. I don't trust V1 to ever update their software.

I'm a huge fan of the Escort 360, been running it for a while now. New upside is the ability to add the dash cam using the same mount and power supply.

V1 from what I gather requires the addition of a phone to use all the apps for segmentation and etcetera. But I do believe the V1 is still very effective and very customizable. I’m using an R1 I really like it.

I've owned the R7 and sent it back. I didn't like it at all. I'll stick to my V1 for now.
