It may involve relocating your garage but place it to the right of the house so you don/t have to walk around the car to get to the house. (to the left in those backward countries)
Don't get me started on architects. |

Rusrolium metallic Cooper pot 3 kits, and 3 kits of silverbullet. I used a gram scale to weigh out the tint for an individual kit then very carefully mixed all the tint together and weighed it out into 6 equal amounts. I had read horror stories of this finish chipping and pulling up. I haven't had any problems but I also did a primer prior to the top coat. It does scratch easily but as thick as I applied it it doesn't show

My tandem garage; it takes five minutes of sliding and lifting to be able to fit both cars in.
Snow's coming, so it was time to shift to the two-car setup!

Unused season wheel & tyre storage
And there's a light weight hoist on the roof cross-beams so I can drop/lift the wheels without breaking my back.

I like this idea on storing wheels on the wall. I'll post a pic of mine later but it's similar to Post #5 (the 2x4 built up rack... however mine's metal and is actually store-bought. I want to change it to what you got since it really breaks the back to bring them up & down two times a year for both mine & my wife's car)

@siwo Here is the setup with the new hoist arrangement. The hoist uses 2x 3-wheel pulleys rated at 85Kgs max, I got from a local trade hardware store, hanging from a cross-beam. The other use is for lifting heavier items into the boot from the garage floor, when I slide the cross-beam along. The far end of which is tenoned into the main roof beam, for stability. The only thing I regret is that the pulley has no 'dead man's trip' - if you let go the rope, it just drops. You can get pulleys where there's a mechanism that traps the pull rope if you let go suddenly. Without the trip, it really needs two people to use safely: one person on the rope and the other manoeuvring the load. The upper pully attaches to an eye bolt - I had to cut a groove in the opposite end of the cross-beam so I could fit the washer and nut that hold it in place. It was tempting to use a screw eye but I wasn't happy that it would stay fast if I ever took the pully up to it's lift weight limit.
The wall brackets are from Amazon, rated 50Kgs, like these - I went for ones with two wall screws vs the cheaper ones that only had one. Because this was originally an external wall rendered with rough stones, I put a piece of cardboard between the wall and the face of the alloys, to avoid scratching. The photo was taken before I put the rubber strips (included in the pack) on the upper side. These are a bit thin, so I add short segments of foam pipe insulator when I drop the wheels onto the brackets, for better protection.

Race cars and bikes take up most of the garage space -- 230i lives outside!

The left side of your garage is crazy. Specifically the chalk board...

Thanks! In hindsight I kind of wish I had done a marker board. Cleaning up the constant chalk dust got old fast.
