Foreign policies affect global trade. It's all connected.

If you want an example of democracy failing int the west...look at the US. Trump censoring the press, etc.

Macron's issues are the same road Trudeau is taking us down.

You can have trade and still be nationalists. Central Europe, Japan, ect are nationalist and have good trade deals world wide.

The main reason for the issues we see in France is the growing gap between classes. We are not seeing this in Canada. In fact we are seeing the reverse with increase in the minimum wage, etc.

How does an increase in minimum wage solve anything? The end result is employers cutting back on employees or automating the work flow.

I'm all for higher wages but you cannot except to make a living wage doing a job that requires no skill and about 30min of training.

Won't disagree with you there. This sounds harsh but some people are not intelligent enough to do anything else. So low skilled, labor jobs are the only way they can make a living..

That is harsh and ignorant. It's not all about intelligence. Believe it or not there are some people who's life circumstances force them to lower wage jobs.

It's not. Plenty of people fought their way out of a corner. Even many fast food joints offer help with college tuition and supervisory training. Opportunities are there just many people in these situation don't take them. A buddy I grew up with got caught up with drugs and did a little bit of time. Yeah that closed a lot of doors for him when it comes to employment. So he worked low end construction jobs and eventually moved up to electrician and now has his own successful business as an electrician. Not saying that everyone out there can be successful but if there is a will than there is a way. And those willing will usually find the time to make the necessary moves that will push them up the economic ladder.

There is a portion of the population that are completely satisfied with minimum wage jobs. Not everyone has the same wants and needs.

Then they need to stop bitching about being broke and not being able to make ends meet. Honestly I never met any adult who enjoys busting their ass and making a salary that a 16 year old would make, while doing a job that is normally done by teenagers.

Quite the attitude you have towards those who are less fortunate then yourself.

Force and completely satisfied do not seem to be congruent. Which is it?

I'd tend to agree with Delta0311 - where there is a will, there is usually a way. If you can't get employment, then perhaps you go into business for yourself. Huge risk, but you can make it the lifestyle you want if you are good at what you do.
