On mine it will only stop if your seat-belt is not on. If it is, it let's me open doors at any speed.

I'm looking for the trip computer shown in head unit (central screen). Any thoughts?
I tried every startup animation for iDrive with Binmercode and it is the only thing that doesn't work. No matter which one I change it to it always shows Connected Drive animation. Is there a limitation on some models?

17 M240 without nav (don't know why that would matter).
So I emailed Bimmercode and they said that means I don't have any of the other images on my head unit if it doesn't work and there is nothing I can do to get a different start up animation.

Is there really no way to get the image files onto the headunit/iDrive? That seems pretty lame. Don't understand why I'm the only one that can't change the animation.

Which cold and warm checks do you disable in Bimmercode to eliminate the flashing in the tailights if you change all the bulbs to LED. In the the rear control model what are the "outer" bulbs they are referring to, brake lights? I swapped to LED on the turn signal, reverse and brake light bulbs

In voltage monitoring set all warm/cold to not active and all bulbs to led

Just got my dongle and coding has already made my car sooooo much more livable and friendly. Its sad that the code is there and options available in iDrive in higher end cars 5 & 7 series but they choose to turn "off" features for the lower end 2 series.

I just read this whole thread and went crazy going thru all the non-expert settings. Now Im making my list of stuff I want to try coding with ExpermotMode next. Here are some questions for my 2017 M240 A8 AWD F23:

Did anyone figure out if you can display gear while in Drive for my car? I read lots of talk about older cars that never showed gear getting it to work in sport. My car from factory shows gear for Sport or Manual (S2 S3 S4 M2 S3 M4 etc) but never shows gear while in Drive. Or not possible?

A/C HU_NBT Show Seat Heat and A/C HU_NBT Show Air Dest: when set to Ackiv where does this display? On head unit everytime you change airflow setting and seat heat?

If I want to show motor temp, where is that setting in KOMBT? And where does it wind up displaying? Where MPH/Date/MPG rotates?

After more research:

I need to get into FEM_Body to code my seats to auto move back when opening door and auto move to return position when door closed.

Also need FEM_Body to make rain sensor less sensitive.

And CAS for my remote's panic button to turn on walk-away-lighting.

And KOMBT for Motor temp and GearNumber, but not sure those will work.

But it seems like you cant get into those modules using Bimmercode. Sigh maybe I should have sucked it up and learned ESys. ESys looked so complicated I decided to go to easy but expensive Bimmercode but maybe I should have researched more that some modules are out of reach with it.

In bimmercode's website Vgate Icar2 seem to be not recommended anymore. I was planning to buy it, since it appears to be the cheapest solution. Any idea why its not recommended anymore? Is there some limitations or known issues with the latest bimmercode apps?

there has been connectivity issues with the vgates and the newer phones.. buy what they recommend. Veapeeks. make sure to check compatibility on the website and buy an adaptor recommended for your specific cell phone

Ugh so Fem_01 is the same as Fem-Body? I assumed they were different. Too many different cars all talking about coding when things are named different in each car.

Trying to set the seat auto move on entry:
I set SM2-3000 SM Global-Einausstieg to FA-SLV

But I didnt have EAH in 3012, in my car its 3015:
I set SM2-3015 EAH-Vertagbrung_SLV_Phys to 00,64
I set SM2-3015 EAH-Schatztra_hinter to 00,00 and 00,3c

None of this got the seat moving. In one post someone said I also had to set something in Fem-Body but I dont know what

Anyone knows how to change the sensitivity of the day time sensor? Maybe in expert mode? I think it is not sensitive enough, even though its bright (not a sunny day of course) car still activates low beams.

From what I've read, I think the rain sensitivity and brightness sensitivity for headlights have one setting so they will adjust together. I haven't tried it myself yet:

After watching the video and trying again, now it works! I think the seat goes back too far tho. I put in 1F which in hex is 30 so 30mm should only be 1.2 inches. I've got to go out with a ruler and see how much its really moving. When I get in the car I almost cant reach the gas pedal to start the motor lol.

Maybe I'll try 0F which is hex for 15 or 16. Thats about .6 inches.

I dont understand how people are putting in 64 hex (which is 100mm or 4 inches). Or maybe thats what I'm accidentally set to.

I tried and can confirm that it is correct. But when I increased the sensitivity of the rain sensor, light sensor works the opposite. Light sensor works like a darkness sensor I mean It baceme more sensitive to darkness, not the light. It needed more light to turn on the headlights.

So if you decrease the sensitivity the headlights will come on later? I find mine come on so quick I dont bother using the auto headlight setting at all.

Ugh if I use the settings everyone else is using (64 and 3c, or 32 and 00, etc) the seat wont move. I tried setting the first number to a low setting (how much the seat should move) and the second number to anything low or even zero (how much the seat should not go back for rear seat legroom) and the seats stop moving. I've only had ONE setting that moves the seat at all and it moves it 3.5 inches, way too much. I think the one number that worked was hex 14, which is 20 in decimal, which is 3/4 of an inch. But mine moves 3.5 inches. Sigh. Maybe because I'm a convertible F23?

Ok I'm an idiot. I was changing the 2nd and 3rd setting when it should have been 1st and 3rd. Went out to the car with a printout so I had the German in front of me and saw I was wrong.

I guess I was only changing the LIMIT the seat could move so any large number kept my seat from moving at all. D'oh.

Just used Bimmercode for the first time today. Should Electronic Transmission Control say Coding data invalid like that?

If it is a manual transmission car, that module wouldn't be present, if it is an automatic then there is probably a code version mismatch between Bimmercode and the transmission module.
