Potenza S001 vs RE050

I've had to plug my new S001 the last few months, the plugs stopped working, though.

I called a local shop for a used tire (85%, same tread as the old tire) and I know I said S001 but I came home today and found it was actually a RE050. being on the rear, would this cause any issues or should I be good running this setup for another year - year and a half?

Checking their inventory online, I'm not seeing any S001's above 65% tread.

You paid for S001, right?.. I mean, they have your money but didn't deliver.

They are different tires with different grip levels, etc. but the car will most likely be able to handle / compensate for the differences. Should any problem with the drivetrain or stabilization system happen while running this setup the dealer is going to void warranty.

Thanks for the reply.

Your last statement is what I was most worried about. I'm not the biggest fan of the S001's but didn't want to drop $340 (costco price) on a single new tire for something I wasn't a huge fan of to begin with. Why the lightly used approach seemed best.

Around here, everyone is ESL, I'm sure they just misheard me and there was a failure to communicate on both ends - that and it was 95 degrees and humid on Wednesday, I didn't want to stand outside as they were mounting it. The problem I have is, according to their website, the only S001's they have in stock are at 65%. Hopefully we can work something out.

Potenza S001 vs RE050

I know I'm in the BMW 2 thread, but I want to ask more about the Potenza S001 vs RE050 for my FIAT 124 Spyder Abarth. The car came with RE050 tires. I got a nail in one with about 15k miles on the tires. I found 2 used S001 tires I'm considering buying. Should I anticipate problems with how they perform as long as I keep the same tires on the same axle? Would it be better to keep the R050s on the back or front or would it depend on whether there is much tread difference?
Thanks
