In short: The factory one is a clutch type LSD, whereas the Wavetrac and Quaife differentials are the torque biasing type. Both types have their advantages and disadvantages.

Although not a suspension component it almost should be. No coilovers will increase stability and traction in a corner as much as a good LSD would.
