With the ease of pad changes on the M2XXi, it is a no brainer for me to change to a more track focused pad for my 6 or so events through out the year. What I don't want is a dual use pad, that is nothing but a dust creator, and most likely a noise creator during street use. I provided information on my daily use pads a few posts up. Here's what I use for track days, and they have worked extremely well with ATE200 fluid. Takes about an hour to change over the pads on all 4 wheels, one at a time.

Installed some Powerstop z23's today on all 4 corners and bedded them in. I'll keep this updated as time goes on.

-installation was simple, I saw something about the sensors not fitting in this thread, but all I did was use a screwdriver and a hammer to tap them in gently and that worked perfectly.

-initial impressions are great, very quiet and have a very good feel to them after the bedding in, the stock pads were louder especially the front drivers side even after I took them out and lubed them up a few weeks ago(worst when cold)

-can't really make a conclusive judgement about dust yet as it's only been maybe 10 miles, but that's the main reason why I bought these pads so I will be watching closely.

M Performance BBK on m235iX here. Installed M2/M3 standard front brake pads (oem p/n 34112284969) 2 days ago. Kind of unfortunately, swapped one brand of steel brake lines for another at the same time. Only made about 150 miles with the new pads but it seems the braking is firmer, better initial bite and overall than with the stock M-Perf pads. Not sure if a different brand of brake lines alone could account for the change.

Can someone independently confirm if the M2/M3 pads really make a difference?
Or, I am just seeing/feeling things?

which ones would you guys recommend? No track days whatsoever. 80% so daily driving and 10% late night "hoon" and 10% some long windy roads on weekends.

Been over a month now and I am really happy with these pads, the dust compared to stock is literally around 10-20% and it is so nice to not have to clean almost weekly. The pads are starting to make a few noises here and there, when reversing they give off a slight chirp which I really don't care about. They also get kind of squealy in the rain and when cold, but its not as bad as stock. Most of the noise seems to be coming from Front Driver's (maybe I only hear because its closer) which is exactly what stock was like too. Not really sure why that is happening as they are definitely lubed up properly and the rotor looks to be wearing normally.

I don't plan to really push these pads as most roads around are straight and don't really punish the pads, but if I were to ever track it I would definitely switch these out for something a little more appropriate.

I would definitely recommend these pads for normal every day driving.

Anyone heard of Bremtec Evolve Hybrid-Carbon Performance Brake Pads? They are pretty pricey!! But it's not on the list.

Or ENDLESS MX72 Pads are performance? That's also not on the list.

On the road they will get noisy after a period of slow daily driving in traffic as the transfer layer wears off.
Not squeally, more of a scraping, grinding noise. Sounds like they are chewing through the rotors.

Anyone have any experience with R1 Concepts eLine rotors with Hawk HPS 5.0s? Planning on changing out my rear soon and love the look of the black slotted rotors on the R1s but on the fence whether to go for Zimmermanns instead. I never track, 100% daily, but I do drive pretty aggressive/spiritedly. Any suggestions?

I’m currently running ferodo DS 2500 racing pads. And they work fantasic.
I haven’t had the time to take them to the track yet. But daily driving compliance is amazing.
Absolutely no noise, and much less dust and OEM.

I’m also running a stop tech slotted rotors in front. Oem in rear.

Hawk DTC-70, front & rear, street & track. They squeak loudly on the street.

I put them on as part of getting the car ready for track events. They'll come off after the last event of the season, and the OEMs will go back on.

I'm quite regular at the Nurburgring and both EBC and DS 2500 are slated on all cars.

DS 2500 pads if you use aftermarket oem equivalent discs with them they're notorious to warping the discs.

XP8 are brilliant pads but like others have mentioned they're really noisy on the street and would lead you into believing you have brake issues.

The best pads I've used are Dixcel RA Type they're absolutely brilliant and go on forever. They've been fine on the road also not loud or intrusive, I haven't used them on my BMW only my Megane MK3 Cup.

Anyone try the akenbo euro 1880? I just got them along with dimpled and slotted rotors.

I am still working on the breaks as the rotor hat bolts have been a bitch. Each bolt has taken 1.5 hours. I've used pb blaster, liquid wrench, a torch, and a heavy duty impact screw driver and have been struggling the whole time.

Also could someone take a picture of their brake caliper showing the correct retainer clip orientation. They can go in either way, I'm 99% sure I've got it in the correct way now, but now I am paranoid.

I just bought from TOP GEAR one of our sponsors, the slotted/drilled stoptech rotors and not the dimpled slotted OEM ones i have been using in the past. Why? $600 for all 4 vs $1100. Im not worried as they are reputable.

Will let ppl know how they go with a new set of EBC yellow and fresh squeezed motul 600.

I went to a track day with longer sessions than I usually do and I'm really disappointed with the MX72s. Did 1 ten minute and 2 fifteen minute sessions and they started to crumble and took gouges out of my front discs ruining them.
Have now ordered a set of PFC08s and will swap between them for track and stock for the street, which is what I should have done in the first place.
