“Not a recall” recall

Got a letter from BMW today extending the warranty on the PCV to 15 years/150,000 miles. And a list of possible symptoms that sounds like the list of side effects at the end of ads for medicines on TV. And an extensive list of when and why repairs won’t be covered. Sounds like an intrinsic manufacturing defect, not a rare one, that will eventually cause failure. Hope I’m wrong.

The PCV failure has popped up more often than any other issue with the B58 (B48 too?) on these forums. Usually it's from idling for long periods. The diaphragm is definitely the weak point.

It doesn't junk the engine at least like a leaky injector does.

What are we supposed to do with it? Take it in or just wait and see what happens?
