F23 Convertible Top Squeaking

Hello,

I have a 2019 BMW M240i F23 Convertible. The convertible top, particularly on the driver rear side has been squeaking/creaking a lot. This noise happens on bumpy and uneven roads. This has also become more prominent as it has gotten colder.

I have applied Gummi-Pflege, but it doesn't seem to help and the issue doesn't seem to come from any of the weather seals.

Here is a video of the noise: https://youtu.be/cyaK6XNHW8A

If you guys have any ideas where this noise is coming from and how to resolve it, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have a 2016 with 73k miles and I don't have this problem. I wonder if you don't have some kind of mechanical issue. Perhaps a visit to your dealer service department is in order?

That sounds more like rattling than squeaking to me from the video. Also those two little metal bits that are visible at the bottom are barely visible on mine. It may well be a mechanical problem. Agree it needs to go to the dealer or someone else if not under warranty. It will only get worse if something is loose.

Unfortunately the car is no longer warranty. I will try some silicone spray in the hinges and see if that changes anything.
