M performance exhaust install
Good afternoon all,
Wanted to get some opinions on the price I was quoted from my local BMW dealership on the m performance exhaust and install of $1,351.00 for my m235i. Is that price reasonable or is there a better alternative method to purchasing and installing the m performance exhaust? Thanks |

I bought mine used off a member here ($500 w/shipping) & it took me about 1/2 hour to install in my garage. I see that there is another member here in the Bay Area (peninsula) that has one for sale. https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1533504 Could be an easy transaction & you could save some $. |

you can install this yourself even if you have two left hands... but first, make sure you buy the right muffler for the diffuser you have today, and will want to have a year from now.
If money isnt an issue, its a good price. Its a BMW price. You can get the muffler itself for probably half, than you need to find the TIPS which could add $500 to the price. And the install really shouldnt be more than 75$, but BMW may charge you 1 hours time @ the $150 or so per hr rate. If you want to put it on yourself, its very easy process. Sawzall, cut exhaust pipe, unplug valve, drop the muffler hangers from the car, this drops the whole muffler off. Remove the rubber hangers and transfer to new muffler, bolt up to car, plug in valve, tighten clamp. I have it down to about 15 mins for the muffler swap.

Yeah, not a bad price from dealer, easiest route if you don't mind spending a bit more. You could maybe save $100 getting one off of EBay and having local shop install for you, more if you install it yourself.

Can you explain the different diffuser options? I have a 2016 M235 and I do not know what variations their could be with a stock BMW. |
