I installed the BMS Stage 1 tune on my 2016 M235xi last month and the power and torque is very noticeable right away. I ordered the BMS data cable (allows you to make boost adjustments) and finally got around to checking boost levels - first run - second gear was 14 psi, 3rd and 4th was 15psi, maxed out at 5th at 17psi. With Stage 1 you only see boost level but was very interesting to see what $400 gets you.

Attached is the second run, the first log was the best but my buddy didn't save it boost hit 17psi boost. Second run hit 16psi

Nice! Did you just use the regular JB4 software? I could never get mine to show/log any data unfortunately(Newest JB1 version too).

Hey khj24, it is the same software that you use for JB4 but it only shows boost. Once you download the software you click on data logging tab, select start, you want to have a passenger do this of course. Start in in second gear run thru, then stop data logging and display.

Yea when I tried that a month or so ago it only showed RPM and IAT and the values were wayyyy off. Like it showed RPM at 80000 idling and when I went to log it just would freeze at "starting logging".

Are you using map 0 or 3 setting, it's on the upper right hand corner.

I was actually looking into it recently and saw somebody using Map3 and I used Map0, wasnt sure if that was coincidence. I am assuming thats my issue? Hard to really find a good guide for logging JB1.


Yea just tried map 3 nothing changed, it did show more accurate readings, but RPM was 500 the entire time and target and ECU boost never topped 9 which isn't correct. This was seen on the spots below the graph, I still can't get that thing to show any data so I'm giving up on it lol
