dyno results MHD stg2+ e20

Hey Lads,

So im FBO with mhd stg2+ e20. I went for a dyno a few days ago and safe to say im a little disappointed. I got 249 kw atw, however the guy dynoing it had a lot of troubles.

with DSC off and in manual shift no matter what he did the car would kick down. the only time he could get it to hold the gear fully was in 6th and couldn't go full throttle until 4500 rpm. the car would just wheel spin on the dyno. Some runs the car would get to 5700 then drop back a gear.

I instructed the guy the do 5th and ease into it but it would hit full boost then bam drop back.

am I wrong for assuming I should be getting more out of it then 249. I know all dynos read different. it was a cold day too, maybe 10 degrees.

im debating about going to get another run somewhere that has prior bmw experience, but I wont waste my time if 249 is expected.

so that's 335whp?? if so that is really low. I got 332 with just jb+ and intercooler. there's no way that can be accurate. no chance

Yea that's what I'm thinking. Just doesn't seem right. I see other peoples results up near 280 so I think I might have to find another dyno that's familiar with bmws

Unless you have a baseline the numbers will be pretty much useless

If you don't wanna do another dyno run at the moment - do it the more fun way and do a quarter mile pass. that should give you a good idea of power )))

Contacted mhd, they advised these numbers are very low. Think I need to find a dyno that's confident with BMW's it seems

1- depends on what dyno you used. they are very different from eachother.
2- there is a special menu with roller test in it, you should try that next time
3- a stage 2 tune with octane is going to put you right around 390-400whp+ 450+wtq.

That's exsactly what I was expecting, but unfortunately had some difficulties. I discovered that roller mode after I left. What does that mode actually do? Do it enable the gears to be held?

its the dyno mode... bmw puts the car on a dyno before it rolls off the assembly line to make sure everything is cool.

Start by doing a baseline pull to have something to compare to

Havent had time to go back to a dyno as of yet. But after speaking to a few people the consensus is the figures are a little low. Should be up around 270+ so hopefully next week get some time to go again
