I Always Check My Coolant Levels Before a Road Trip and...

...this time I found the main reservoir to be 500ml above the Max level and the smaller reservoir to be 200ml above the Max level. This was after a coolant flush at the dealer 54 miles ago. The car was driven twice after the flush and has been sitting in the garage on a battery tender since July 27th.

All I know about coolant is to keep the levels between Min and Max. It seems mighty strange to get the car back with so much extra coolant in the reservoirs. I've had the flush done at the dealer a couple of times previously and it came back just a tad over Max in both reservoirs each of those times.

I always take some coolant with me on trips just in case I find it low mid-trip. I'm now curious to see what I'm going to find this time out.

Was the engine stone cold when you checked the coolant levels?

The tires were 69°F. After sitting for weeks, I imagine the coolant would have been more or less the same temperature.
