Air bag recall

Does anybody have any details about an airbag recall on M240i?

I got this URL from a news article:
https://www.ismyairbagsafe.com.au/

and my car comes up as potentially affected by the recall.

I haven't spoken to the dealership yet.

Dealers are useless, I've been trying to contact them since the recall was first announced... 6 months ago? 1 year? Still nothing.. "no stock"

Better to use the BMW website
https://www.bmw.com.au/recall

When I added my VIN number (M2) a BMW person was online and it was organised and done within a week at my normal dealer while I waited, all up about an hour in waiting.

Real easy

At a service in October 2017, dealer advised the airbag in my M240i required replacement but there was a wait for parts. October 2018, airbag was replaced.

Oddly enough the govt website said the airbag was fine when I keyed in the VIN.

First service was early on in the year. I just had it back at the dealership and they initiated the conversation about the recall. so all done now.

But they messed it up and now the passenger mirror doesn't tilt downwards when reverse is engaged. will have to go back to have it rectified.

Are you sure they haven't just flicked the mirror selection switch to the passenger side? from memory it has to be to the drivers side for the dip to work.
