Help with Dinan Exhaust (Tips sticking too far out)
So i recently had the Dinan Cat-Back exhaust installed on my 240i but it seems like the tips are sticking a bit further out than anticipated (also looks to be slightly sagging?). For reference i have the stock diffuser. Mechanic who fitted it said he tried to play around with it but couldn't get the tips to sit flush with the bumper/diffuser. Any way around this? Does anyone have a pic of a similar setup? I'm trying to figure out if there's an easy/logical remedy before going back to the mechanic's/calling Dinan.

The M-performance style diffuser sits out a bit further than stock and would likely make it look normal. I wonder if the dinan one was designed for it? It wouldn't hurt to ask Dinan about it.

I just put an M-style diffuser on my car recently and it makes the MPE tips sit noticeably more recessed than the stock diffuser so that could be it.
I do like those Dinan tips though. Wonder if they are available separate from the whole exhaust system. The MPE on my previous 3er had single wall tips and I think they look better. |

Little different set up with exhaust and midpipe here.
They were out to much when I first installed the exhaust but they can be manipulated for a better fit. Kind of PIA but doable. Second pic was before diffuser swap. Fit was better with the IND diffuser addad. |

Look's good! Love the fitment with the m style diffuser but I'm honestly just trying to get it to look yours with the stock diffuser.

I had to tilt the exhaust upward towards the bumper which offset the connection to the midpipe a bit. Its wasn't flush but bolted on easily without leaking.
Having changed the mid allowed more movement and better fitment before bolting up. I've read swapping out the exhaust hangers can help too. Possibly cut the existing midpipe an inch may help but then going back to stock is not an option. Good luck. Still looks good with the Dinan tho! |

I had to do the same thing that Resoelg describes when I put the MPE on my 2018 M240i. It ended up looking almost exactly like his picture except the tips stick out even a bit less.
I did this with the stock midpipe. It did take a couple of attempts to get it there. |

I would think loosening up the bolts on stock midpipe would make it easier to adjust the whole exhaust and position the pipes the way you want but I will defer to others who installed Dinan with OEM.
Good luck. |
