Question about bm3 on 228i

hey guys, I currently have the dinan stage 1 tune (the dinantronics performance one, not the sport one) and I was wondering if it is worth it for me to switch over to bm3 given the amount of money I already spent on the dinan. I don't do track or autox at all so I feel like the dinan is enough power for me. however I heard of all the different things you can do with the bm3 (burble tune is something I want from bm3) and just the overall power gains compared to dinan.

my question is if the bm3 is worth the money to switch over considering how much money I've already spent on the dinan given I pretty much only use the car to commute to and from work as well as some canyon carving.

another route I am considering is sticking to dinan and going to stage 3 which also requires a fmic. they skipped stage 2 for some reason as I cannot find it in their website. thanks guys for your input

IF warranty is a big issue for you, keep Dinan

If not, get Bootmod3. It's the superior tune in every aspect.

thanks for your input Mike, BTW I just received the black anodized charge pipe you sent over, looking great!

Warranty is not a huge deal for me however have you had any feedback on the reliability of bm3? any trouble with dealerships when doing maintenance?

No maintenance problems so far. I relock the DME and unflash the tune when I go in for service (you never know)..
Absolutely worth it though. Smooth power gain across the curve. Burble's fun. And you can keep the flap always open for sport/sport+. I'm on stage 1 93 and it's enough for me.

How different was the experience? Running a Dinan Stage 1 piggyback on my B46 and recently been looking at switching to BM3 but can't find much feedback from those who've switched.

While I'm quite satisfied with the Dinan I'm always open to change...

the top end is about the same but what I like is that I can feel the power during the lower rpm too and I also noticed the difference even in comfort mode, not just sport like my dinan s1

does anyone by any chance know if I can use my iPad and a USB-C to Ethernet adapter to flash bootmod3 instead of using a laptop? the FAQs say I need the obd agent but I don't see why this is required if I can just connect to the car with an adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZZ6NW5E..._cH3FEb8EP1N18

You can't. The app connects to the agent, not directly to the car. To use anything other than a computer you would need to use the hardware agent.
