I think these are more lagoons and rivers, but fuck the whole outdoors in my opinion - if you can't drive on it, it isn't worth a damn.

Indeed. But as many said, eating bugs (I would never, but because I'm a pussy when it comes to bugs!) is something many do... I was surprised it'd come to such a tragic end.
