Anyone trade in their lease for another car?

Hello Fam,

My 235i lease will be up in a couple months and I am at 11k miles out of the total 30k allowed. I am wondering if I can get any deals or incentives for turning in my lease and getting another BMW or a different brand. Has anyone recently done this and came up? I know of some people who have gotten their lease end fee waived or even had their early turn in fee waived as long as they leased another vehicle.

Thank you!

You will get a $300 credit to your account for the unused miles, I'm pretty sure it's only valid if you get another BMW but I'm not 100% on that. They gave it to me automatically, there was nothing I needed to fill out or request as far as I remember. They will also waive the turn-in fee as long as you get another BMW.

Hmm, i also forgot to mention there is a big scratch on the front bumper from my wife trying to park it in the garage, also a dent on the roof from when my wife closed the garage door on it haha. I'm assuming any credits I get for turning it in will probably go towards paying for those damages??

Oh man...lol. They will ding you for those if they are noticeable. I'd try my best to camouflage them but also use it as a negotiating tactic......'I'll take this car off your lot if you take my car as is.'

With that few miles you might want to check the used market compared to your lease buyout price. I wouldn’t be surprised if you had a good chunk of equity that could be realized if you buy out with the intent to sell privately.

They may also be willing to “roll” some of your unused miles into a better lease deal with more miles on the next car, but that may not be worth it because you obviously don’t drive too much.

Give a PDR guy $100 to fix the roof that'll be much cheaper than getting hit for it in turn in.

Good idea, i'll definitely do that. It's not as noticeable so should be an easy fix. As for the front, its not only visibly and deeply scratched, its a bit shaved down from hitting the rough exterior of the garage wall. Would it be wise to get it filled/repainted and try to pass it off during lease turn in? I'm assuming BMW will check each panel with a paint meter so there is probably no point in fixing the front.....

Take your car to the nearest carmax and check what they’re willing to offer & compare it to your buyout. you might come out ahead given the huge miles equity.
