Which HEX code would one use for the NEXT 2017-2 maps. Is it the same as NEXT 2017-1?

Almaretto - Thanks for the reply. You are right, I would prefer to install 2017-2 update rather than 2017-1. Just curious if the HEX code for the FSC generator is the same for both. I looked through the thread but might have missed if someone answered that already.

I am new to all this, I have been able to download the maps and have installed E-sys. I can see my vin under connections, but the connect is greyed out. Is there something else I need to install before I can connect? I don't have PsdZData_Lite v54.1, is this required? If so where does it go and where can I get it from? Thx.

I actually got the PsdZData and successfully updated the maps to NA NEXT 2017-2. Thank-you all for great info on this site!

So the guys who have HU_NBT2 like me, are we able to generate fsc codes right now? I'm getting the error "no fsc could be read from ecu". I'm assuming the hex number isn't 0xDE like it is for HU_NBT?

It is not 0xDE, but no publicly available way to generate.

Though, you do get 3-4 years free updates so not sure you would actually need one.

Yea I'm getting free OTA updates but they only seem to be regional which for me is all of the northeast. Plus my version number is saying 2016-4, not 2017-2. There's a spot near my girlfriends house that still hasn't updated yet on my maps and I'm wondering if 2017-2 has it lol. Not a big deal though of course.

I am not talking about the OTA updates. You can also update via USB. But, 2017-1 is the latest (Evo) available. 2017-2 is latest for head unit before yours (ie Next).

Latest for North America is 2017-1 EVO. 2017-2 is not released yet.

Okay I got you now. Are you saying I can get 2017-1 from BMW for free? If not, can one of you could provide me with the 2017-1 link? I'd be super grateful. Also what is the hex number for me if its not 0xDE?

BMW will not give you anything for free.

I could tell you the hex, but will not matter because you cannot do anything with it.
