Favorite MA/Metrowest backroads?

Hi everyone,

My 2018 M240i will be here soon, but I don't know too many backroads in the MA Metrowest area that are worth driving. I'd appreciate it if you guys could let me know your favorite local drives!

Ohh, good question! Depends on what you're looking for I guess. I mean, there's a lot of nice scenic roads to take in my wife's F23 that aren't nearly as enjoyable in my F22 (think slow cruise through Gloucester/Rockport).

I don't know of a lot of fun twisty roads around this area of MA, but I will suggest a road trip up to NH for Bear Notch Road in Bartlett. It runs between the Kancamagus and 302. Definitely a fun road!

Can't wait to see some of the responses!

There are some really good maps from the motorcycle riding community in NE. It's my go to for exploring new roads. They rate roads as to type of riding and point out stops/restaurants. Here is the MA map.

Interesting roads all start west of Worcester. It's too crowded in the metrowest area for anything spirited. Around Barre and the Quabbin reservoir is pretty good. My favorite is Rt 62 to Barre. Have lots of good memories going there with motorcycling groups.

I'll 2nd roads around the Quabbin. Rt 62 and 122 are well known in that area but there are others too. Here's a map with a number of good roads in the area. It's a long loop, but there are 3 good destination breweries not far off the route: Wachusett, Stone Cow and Milk Room. Don't stop at them all or you won't be able to drive!

Nice loop. I figured out most sections by trial and error over the years on my motorcycle. We call the group rides spirited! As you can imagine, stopping at breweries would have all sorts of unintended consequences

Maybe we can organize an f22 cafe and car events around this area at some point. Would be a great opportunity to talk about mods and experiences and get to know locals.

F22/F23 brewery road trip? I would be up for that! I love both cars and beer (not at the same time of course)! Now we just need to wait for the nice weather to return...

YES! this sounds amazing. I would love something like this. Does anyone know how to find things like this in the area? I live in Boston and I feel like I don't get to take out my M235i enough.

This forum really seems to be the only place with any sort of New England 2 series groups. That being said I’d love to organize some sort of get together, maybe get some inspiration for future modifications? I’m in the Metrowest area, if anyone else is nearby!

Name a time and place and let's see who can make it. Unfortunately, my kids schedule dominates my weekends (wouldn't have it any other way though),but if I can fit it in, I will. Always looking for an excuse to drive my car.

A fun drive together during the fall season! That sounds promising and I'm in if schedules allow it.

Sunday morning is of course traditionally the best time for enjoying local roads. Not sure about family and kid obligations

I am 30 miles north of Boston close to NH. Roads in the lake region and mountains are excellent choices but further away for most of you. The trip we mapped out already west of 495 and towards Quabin is probably the best choice.

The further you get from Boston the worse the choices for coffee (assuming we skipping breweries for our first meet ). I can look for a place with a spacious parking lot and coffee. On motorcycle trips we often met at DD, they are plenty around.

How about the weekend of the 1st of October?

Hi all! I’m in the Southern NH area just off 93. My weekends are usually pretty booked but I’ll keep an eye out for activity here.

Mornings are best. Can't do the 1st weekend in October. Happy to say my excuse is I'll be driving Summit Point Main that weekend! But name another weekend and I'd love to go for a drive. Afternoons usually have fall baseball for my son.
