HOnk on Lock

Peoples!

When my 235 is running in neutral and I step out of the car with the key and lock it from the outside (to warm it up, for example), it honks the horn once. How do I stop it from doing that? It didnt do that before until towards the end of winter software update last year I think.
Any ideas? I hate honking at 4 am in the morning

Many Thanks!

I turned mine off via iDrive, now it only flashes and has the mechanical locking sound. Pretty sure this works for all models?

Edit: Used to "beep/chirp" not honk.

Maybe it's mad at you for locking it when the engine is running. That might be verboten. No good German would ever do that sort of thing, for sure.

Probably because there are not as many ''bad germans" as bad Americans - lots of places around here I'd consider it smart to keep it locked. But your neighbors deserve a 'I'm sorry' gesture for that 4am honking.

From my (228) manual, so pages may be off for you:
Confirmation signals from the vehicle
The settings are saved in the active profile, refer
to page 35.
1. "Settings"
2. "Doors/key"
3. Deactivate or activate the desired confirmation
signals.

I've noticed that happening on the newer 17's and 18's.
