Drop In Filter Options

I have been running the mppk airbox with stock charcoal filter. I was looking into getting a different drop in to replace the stock one. I had the K&N before but that threw codes for some reason. Seitching back to stock fixed it so something witht the K&N doesnt work without this set up. Other options I have been looking at are the Afe dry panel filter(https://x-ph.com/afe-power-magnum-fl...35-335-435-m2/ ) or the eventuri panel filter(https://x-ph.com/eventuri-n55-panel-filter/) . Does anyone have comments or experience with these? Or would it also be sufficient to just cut the charcoal layer off my stock filter? Thank you

I have been running the AFE Pro Dry S filter with the MPPK airbox mod for a few months now and it's been really solid with no idle issues and consistently good IAT's. I'd recommend it for sure.

The BMC is the best filter option in my opinion. Part number FB740/20

Woah! Your KN filter threw codes?! I've heard of it happening, apparently its rare. Most intakes will use a similar style to KN where there will be an oil coating on top of the filter. I've heard that its the coating on the filter that causes the car to throw a code related to the mass air flow sensor.

Multiple people on the forum run the BM intake. maybe give that one a shot

Never had problems with the k&n on my two N55's even once I accidentally over sprayed the filter that was dripping on the floor from the airbox.

AFE dry doesn’t use oil, so no issues. Don’t bother with an oiled filter

Why? It's a maintenance part, not a performance part.
