Bmw mppk air box + dinan cai?

Hello,

I am looking into doing this set up for my 2016 bmw m235i. However I am unsure if it will work well on the m235i. Pairing just the mppk with a drop in K&N caused me to throw a cel for too much air. Im thinking dinan + mppk will do the same. Does anyone have this setup or any experience with this?

Thank you

Don't. Save your $350+ and put it towards other useful mods. The MPPK is fine on it's own.

You are able to get the maf code removed with a tune. If that is the setup you are wanting to run.

It’s just not a good intake - CTS, Ingen, and the MST are all better.

Ya I am just going to stick with the mppk + oem filter for now. Just waiting for filter to deliver to switch to that set up. Maybe later down the line I'll look into getting a cts or mst intake. For now I am getting charge pipe done soon and thinking about doing the turbo inlet too, just not sure what brand. Also I would rather save some money for some rims

Do the MST V2 inlet. Great mod.

I want some Apex 18X9 myself, but the price is just too much right now, plus I have other things I’m working on. Happy modding

I was looking into the Apex ec-7 18x8.5 as well. Will look into that inlet. Thank you for the help!

I have that exact setup, dinan on the mppk, works fine for me. If there is any kind of leak after the intake it'll throw the air mass code. I would throw a smoke machine on the car to check for leaks before you start throwing money at things.

Nothing to do with a leak, and everything to do with the tube shape throwing off the MAF reading. I’ve had the intake - the CTS and stock M2 airbox with AFE flow better.

I've had:

stock
Stock + mppk
Every filter in the world
CTS
Dinan + mppk
Injen

Everything sucked except the stock stuff and the Dinan. Come to find out there was a leak on the hot side pipe. The stock stuff masked the problem so it seemed like the intakes were the issue, a $2 o-ring and they all work just fine now. I would still smoke test the car for any hidden issues before you go about changing things.
