You are almost there. Mine will arrive at the port this Friday morning. Which dealer did you go through? I ordered mine through Fremont.

Crazy that we're not on the same boat considering the similar time frame! We've purchased 3 BMWs from BMW of Fremont in the past (dad's 09 335i plus my cars). But I went through East Bay BMW this time since we live in San Ramon. Plus they gave my dad a good deal on his 2020 X3 and the sales guy seems to be pretty chill.

But always had good experiences with Fremont.

*sigh* been waiting since July so the last couple of days are always tough lol.

I ordered mine in 9/13 and was surprised Fremont BMW has an allocation. Received a production number right a way. But my production date was not until the 44th week. Once in production it went pretty fast.

As far as Fremont BMW I am happy with them so far except they kept telling me they couldn't get the no cost black kidney grill. I will have to work with them on that once the car arrives.

I traded in my 2019 S5. Took a hit as I knew I would. The purchase price on the M240i is ok. With the incentives I will have to finance it. I also have the USAA discount $2k I plan to use. With the USAA incentive I will have to forego the $1k discount. But I will still come out $1k more on the discount.

I am looking forward to it. Probably in another week and a half.

That's strange about the grille; I added that a while after I got my 228i the last time, so haven't experienced that. I'm still kind of debating whether to buy or lease. Initially my plan was to get a Mk8 Golf R, but the timing of that new model (as well as the next gen 2) didn't align w/ the my lease end. If the car had Android Auto, it'd be perfect. The fact that it has the older iDrive system is the only thing that annoys me.

Right? For the cost of the car you would think Android Auto would be standard. That is pretty standard across the auto industry now.

I am sure someone eventually will come out with an aftermarket fix for this.

Well there are aftermarket solutions - ex. Bimmertech Android Auto mmi Prime (and less expensive chinese clones). You just kind of hook it up inline with the OEM head unit. But I'm unclear on how reliable it is and performance (plus I'm not thrilled with opening up the dash). But it's a relatively clean solution. But anyway - minor issue for another day

I don't believe the Bimmertech android auto mmi prime works for the 2021 two series.

Yeah I see that on their site, it stops at 2018. Is there something new / different for 2021? Other option is getting a wifi audio player w/ a line level output and streaming from the aux input (i'm a bit OCD about lossless audio lol).

The main function on the Android Auto I like is Waze on the larger display and voice command on text and phone.

When do you anticipate your car will be at the dealer?

Honestly, I'm not sure. Based on my sales guy's last email, it sounds like it 'could' show up by this weekend or early next week. I can't recall how long my cars sat at the port the last two times or if there's any delays due to COVID or anything. BMW site still shows at the port.

That took a while. How long was your car stuck at the port? Does "in transit" means it is going to BMW VDC, or to the dealer?
