Question OEM or OEM style exhaust tip options for M235i?

Hi:

I have a 2016 M235i with the factory black exhaust tips. the black finish is eroding, and I'd like to replace them with stainless steel (not chrome) tips that can stand up to the road salt we have here.

I'm a big believer in OEM engineering, so I'd like to stay with the factory "slip-on" style attachment.

I'm confused about what fits and what doesn't. Looking at realoem, fitment seems to be across most of the F-series non-M cars.

Can I use the tips from a 228i or 230i? will that fit? Are the similar ID and OD? I found one site that said the 2016 M2 uses the same tip size, but not 2017-up. Can that be true? sounds wrong.

Thanks,

Dave
