Yeah, but she wants RFTs on the car to be "safe"...small price to pay.

You have coupes only, right? If that's the case it's stupid easy. You'd have to go out of your way to try and mess anything up.

I would advise, however, if you go the DIY route do it in this order. Center, rears, passenger door only. That way if you can't get the door card back on you can drive to dealer for help. If you get it back on great, then do driver side.

I was saying to my pal just today that I'm tempted to put RFTs on mine. flats are rare but when one has one it'd be nice not to be stranded.

DIY in my garage.

Very easy and straight forward installation process.

First time I ever did anything like this.
My buddy whos done this a thousand times was there to guide/help when needed.

The scariest part was the force needed to pop the door panels off, I thought I was going to break something.

When I put the drivers door panel back on the first time it didnt sit flush and pulled it back off to realize a snap tab had gotten bent and didnt go in the hole.
I fixed it and everything snapped back into place like it was supposed to.

Coupes only, correct. Exactly, the door panel is what is terrifying me. Its funny, I used to think nothing of getting under the engine and changing out a starter or replacing brake pads, etc. That was until my late thirties when I started buying new rather than used.

I will need to watch the installation videos a few more times to build up my courage, but the H/K system in these cars is not "good enough."

If you get yourself in trouble it will be putting back on. Off is easy. Watch the Bavsound video. It's a 5 minute job per side if you need reinstall at dealer. I'd be shocked if they charged you anything beyond a case of beer.

Washed the car yesterday before making the drive from SF to LA today. Was planning on taking 1 down and then 101 once they meet up near SLO. Made a little pit stop at Laguna Seca on the way. Unfortunately found out about an hour after I was driving on 1 that it was closed prior to where I was getting back on 101 so I had to turn back around and drive all the way to salinas and get back on 101 still got some nice photos on 1 though

Also got hit with an engine oil below minimum warning so had to stop at an Oreillys to get some Castro 5W-40.

Nope. That just shows how white, especially Mineral White, really pops and shadows the body lines on these cars. I love it, especially when the sun is lower on the horizon.

Replaced Pirelli C7s with Michelin AS/3 . Waaay better at first blush.

Now waiting for my Dinan exhaust and BMW perfomance valence to get installed.

AND, Last but far from least, brought home the 235's garage mate, my 2006 911S. I am continually blown away by the Carrera. When I am away from it for the winter storage months, I tend to forget what a total awesome performance/aesthetic package it provides ME. There is just not any car that feels like it except another Porsche.

Picked up my painted MP parts in Estoril Blue/Gloss Black combo. Rocker blades will be matched with the side skirt decals.

Waiting for the weather to improve before installing the parts along with the carbon fiber MP rear spoiler and some 3.5" BMS chrome tips.

Just waiting for Dinan CAI and Stage 2 and I'll be "done"

I like how your MP diffuser was painted (am getting mine painted this week) with the Estoril blue.

Would you mind taking a few pics of it installed?

As much as I like new cars, I really appreciate when someone pampers an older model like this. Couple the condition with the fact that Porsche makes minor changes through the model years, and I might've thought that your 911 was new at first glance.

Beautiful machine!

Thank you so much. It has 24K miles and does not see Midwest winters.

I did buy it new and try to take good care of it. A few very minor chips here and there ( mostly from the wide tires kicking back stones ) and it does have a replacement OEM windshield from a rock tossed from a truck ( grrrr). I call it patina.

I don't let anyone else wash it and I do all my own detailing.

When I used to take it to the dealer, they all commented on the condition for a 12 yr. old car.

Its a great car. Porsches are more than a sum of their parts.

Changed the oil in the 228, rotated the tires, measured brake rotor thickness after 70,650 miles it measured at .94" still have a .10" left until they are out of spec and need to be replaced. Brake pads, lines, fluid, transmission fluid for the 6MT are next.

Disconnected the battery tender from since Thanksgiving, put on the new license plate sticker, and tomorrow will drive it off the tire savers, deflate back to normal pressures, and go for the first ride in months!

Admired the sparkle of Midnight Blue Metallic in the first morning sunshine we've had in a while.
