Things I HATE about my 2 series
So obviously the 2 series is a great car and I am massively happy with the M235i that I picked up earlier this week.
However, one thing that is irritating is that the fuel warning/reserve light goes on with a quarter of the tank remaining. That means that I have to drive around for the next week with it on. Annoying! What's your number one pet peeve with your 2 series? |

Pulling the door handle twice to get out. WAY over-thinking things there...

Unlock on engine-off is also possible.

Hate the wheels for a variety of reasons. That channel that's hard to clean, seem to be bending them all the time, etc. Also wish the screen had a sleep feature where it went auto off after 5 seconds of no use. Start and stay in sport mode would be nice. Wish the 228 colors were avail on the 235.
Aside from the wheels nothing that rises above the level of mildly annoying.

Not that it's a huge problem or anything but if you close the trunk with the battery disconnected the only way to open it back up is if you jump it from the engine bay terminals. A really stupid oversight if you ask me.

Well, you can always take driveline out of the program for the normal Comfort/Sport button. I would think that with a manual the only remaining difference (throttle positional response) could be accommodated for with your foot.

Minor gripes at best so far: Auto dimming mirrors (dislike on all cars though), fuel warning at quarter tank (others have said it can be coded out), active noise (already coded out), steering wheel controls for radio (not as easy to switch stations as other steering wheel controls)

how easy it is to code in different things? as a rule i don't like messing about with my cars especially when they're brand new out the box. |

manual transmission COMFORT mode for the driveline the throttle response is gone, plus I like the exhaust noise through the speakers. Driveline COMFORT mode is way different then SPORT. I'm curious if engine mapping is altered in COMFORT that the power curves, maximum power and even VANOS and turbo are all reduced.

I really don't have any complaints so far. As a tall guy I wish the seat belt mounting points on the B pillar moved up and down instead of being fixed. |

oh and obviously the number one most annoying thing is the lack of a temperature gauge. that goes without saying though, right?

The ASD does get louder. I have mine disabled, so I don't tend to think of that.

Sport mode has a very steep throttle tip in which means you get much more throttle which much less pedal, which makes the response seem ultra aggressive. Comfort is linear, so to get the same amount of throttle you need to dig much deeper into the pedal travel.

I wish there was a way to get the sharper throttle response without the aggressive shift logic. Reason being is that in this mode on the highway, the transmission will not shift past 6th which is just wasteful and unnecessary. |
