Yes, I have! It's soooo much better. My favorite part is being able to use your phone for other things while you have the navigation going. It no longer opens to the app you're using on your phone.

I updated to iOS 13 today and can confirm it’s not full screen, at least in my 2017 model M240i. The new layout does look cool though!
As a bonus it also seems to had fixed the connectivity issues I was having as well. Last edited by cyclingismylife; 07-21-2019 at 04:19 PM.. |

I would suspect that doing fullscreen CarPlay, not matter what version, would require that BMW allow this to be set in an update. From what I understand from using a purchased CarPlay full screen mod, it really just requires a setting to be changed. The problem is that even with something like BimmerCode it's not something you can change and requires essentially "jailbreaking" to go in and change it. With older versions you could change it with a USB stick, but now requires plugging a ENET cable into a laptop to do it.
It's a pain in the arse but going full screen on CarPlay makes it SO much better. It's a shame that BMW don't update this, it would be dead easy. I'm very curious to see if it all works with iOS 13 but my last phone is a 6 and thus not upgradable and I'm not gonna put a beta on my main phone. |
