Eisenmann Quad-tip Exhaust and Remus Front Section (Success)
When pricing out the Eisenmann Sport Exhaust w/ quad-tips, I discovered the price for their center pipes was outrageous ($1700 for the resonated one, $1400 for unresonated), so I took a gamble and went with the Remus Sport Exhaust 2-piece resonated front section ($700) after a sales rep at a certain big vendor in La Habra verified they were very close in fitment.
I had the pieces installed today-- everything lined up perfectly. I love the sound so far. Subtle when driven gently, and a deep roar when you punch it. I have heard conflicting information as far as whether it will get louder or quieter over time. I'd probably be okay with either. The CF diffuser was custom cut by the manufacturer, JL Motoring, who happens to be located in City of Industry, if anyone is thinking of doing the same. Curiously, I'd say the Remus portion shapes the sound even more than the Eisenmann, as it sounds nearly identical to the complete Remus setup in this video:
There's an Eisenmann sport exhaust video floating out there, too, but it seems to have a different character-- less deep. Maybe it's just because of the equipment used to record the video, dunno. |

I'm not sure which section had the most pronounced effect on the sound, but I can tell you the difference vs. stock was dramatic. The new exhaust note was a deep, throaty, inspirational sound that I absolutely loved. I highly recommend you check out the YouTube video above (listen on a good pair of speakers, not your phone) to get an idea:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ature=emb_logo I mixed Remus with Eisenmann to save money, and the end result was perhaps more Remus-y than Eisenmann-y, but no less satisfying. I sold this car last year for something with a significantly less inspirational sound, hoping an aftermarket exhaust would compensate. It really hasn't, unfortunately. The only way to beat this sound is with more cylinders. I really think it sounds better than an F8x exhaust, which, admittedly, isn't saying much. </troll> |
