11 July 2023 - Scuderia AlphaTauri announces that Daniel Ricciardo will be joining the team on loan from Oracle Red Bull Racing for the remainder of the Formula 1 season, starting from the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix.
“I’m very pleased to welcome Daniel back into the team,” commented Franz Tost, Scuderia AlphaTauri Team Principal. “There’s no doubt about his driving skills, and he already knows many of us, so his integration will be easy and straight forward. The team will also profit a lot from his experience, as he is an eight-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner. I would like to thank Nyck for his valuable contribution during his time with Scuderia AlphaTauri and I wish him all the best for the future.”

Apparently it was Ricciardo's Pirelli tire test at Silverstone in 2023 machinery that cemented the change. He put up a time that would have put him on front row for Silverstone GP.

I was surprised to read: "While he was testing the RB19, it was confirmed that he will make a full-time comeback driving for AlphaTauri for the rest of this season."

Not sure where that came from since he did a 1:27.415, 0.7s behind Pole with a faster compound tire and a track that's in better condition.

These guys know what they’ve signed up for. Their job is purely performance based, particularly when these teams invest so much damn money each year to make this thing go round and round.

The mentally strongest survive. You don’t produce, you’re out. Can’t handle the pressure, then you should probably try something else. Reality sucks for some haha

Yeah that must stink for DV watching Mr teeth coming on but as you say the AT s@cks also so RIC could be going the same way before long with Yuki remaining as the permanent body in the car before Marko decides where A Tauri is going.
