So I know there is the Bluetooth rev that BMS has for the JB4 mobile connection. That costs $140 though and I don't know if that's worth it to me. I was wondering if I could buy one of these adapters, that has a female USB 2.0 port on one end of the cable and a male lightning plug on the other end. What I am looking to do is to use this adapter to plug the BMS USB cable to the female port on the adapter and then use that to turn the BMS USB cable to a lightning cable to then plug into the iPhone to connect directly with the JB4 mobile interface. I think some people on this forum have tried this method but I want to be sure it is correct before purchasing the mobile app. So if anyone has any insight on this, please let me know. I just want to see what my options are besides a bulky laptop. Thanks.

Never mind I think I found my answer... Only android users can bypass the Bluetooth connect kit if their device supports USB OTG support. Apple iPhone and iPad do not support OTG so it is impossible to bypass the connect kit, so the $140 has to be payed, unless I get a cheap OTG android tablet.

I'm in the same boat.

Might be cheaper and actually more convenient to pick up a used android device and stick it the glove box for this.

Would have to use wifi or USB to computer to get the logs off the device though.
