M Perf LSD, What is that port on the case?

I was looking at my brand new LSD sitting on my workbench and noticed that there is a plugged port on the back cover.

Does anyone know what that was intended for?
It sure looks looks to me like a BMW thingamabob port that you can use to attach the M Racing doohickey.

Are you sure it's not the fill plug for the diff fluid?

I don't think so. The fill plug is down lower. This has a stainless steel sheet metal plug (like an engine block freeze plug) pressed into it.
