Well sir you must be spoiled rotten on your cars!

These cars are definitely ridiculously fast and powerful. More than you would ever possibly need for regular driving.

Thanks I appreciate the comments! I was mostly curious what you all think.

I never had this situation before in the past 5 years of owning new luxury cars, I was surprised and curious how everyone else would handle it!

For what it's worth, my car is still at the dealer for the rattle, and they did swap me into a 4 series a day later. I didn't bring it up to anyone or complain! So I hope this thread doesn't think I'm the worst.

But seriously, I always enjoy driving something new, even if it's not something I'd buy. And Mazdas get really good reviews in the var mags, so I'd particularly enjoy trying one.

When you get to thinking your butt is too good for some car ... just remember ... it's your BUTT.

It's a rental Mazda so you Vroom-Vroom discreetly out of the dealership and then flog it because its a rental. All good. Wear a wig if you can't be seen in a Mazda.

Drove an x-drive (x2 I think) w/ all-seasons last winter as a loaner, and it verified all my assumptions about how effective the snow tires are. That and why people order the heated seats (but 5 minutes of warmup don't leave me wanting).

That's all well and good - but reflecting on where we are - the important thing is what's the econoMazda like on the track? How does it handle heat soak and what are the factory suspension calibration options?

Sure you do, it's part of the service you are offered when you lease a BMW. Says so right in the paperwork.

But the paperwork says nothing about getting a comparable car as a loaner. You are entitled to a loaner, not a loaner of a particular level.
The same goes for insurance: if you have insurance for a replacement vehicle, the company does not pay for a comparable vehicle, just a vehicle. I have had many types of such cars, most recently a Mini convertible. Sweet ride, but I was just lucky.

What a narcissistic thread; it's called a "courtesy car" for a reason..

I am not happy when I get a loaner car I don't prefer but I know for a fact that there is nothing in the BMW/dealer franchise agreement (or ANY manufacture) that require them to provide the customer with a replacement vehicle; it's supplied as a "courtesy" to keep the customers happy and not be inconvenienced..

The dealers sells back their loaner cars to recoup some of their investment when it hits a certain mileage.. That in itself confirms that courtesy cars are not provided by BMW NA with any stipulation to potential customers.

They had a nice i8 roadster the day I took my M240i in to get the alarm fixed but the dirty so-and-sos wouldn't let me take it as a loaner.

I aim thinking of filing suit. What do you advise?

Ron, you brighten my mornings with your posts! Thank you.

Regarding filing suit, I would suggest wearing a suit on your next dealer visit to ensure you comply with the strict rules regarding proper attire when being provided a high end BMW loaner!

It is a decent car, and that's why I drive the wife's current-gen Mazda 3 around town. It's lighter and therefore more responsive in cut-and-thrust city traffic, and the MZ3's turn-in is nothing to sneeze at either. In my book, Mazdas are still Great Little Cars.

I drive a 2011 Honda Fit Sport as my daily. It's not speedy but once up to speed it moves quite well. It carries my Rottweilers and all kinds of stuff. I enjoy it.

My local dealer proactively tells me when BMW vs Enterprise loaners will be available which means they must get a fair amount of push back on the issue. But you know what? I got a 2 series about 6 months back as a loaner, wife fell in love with it, and that resulted in her getting one. So I would say BMW got some return on their provision of a brand courtesy car.

drader, you are dating yourself here...LOL Man, I have not seen that reference for a while. Nice touch.

Not sure how that’s bad in anyway, you have a car that you can use and you get to compare and definitely appreciate more hours when you get it back.
